Sunderland Goalkeeper Steve Harper Approached By Three ISL Clubs

In what might be seen as a missed opportunity, English goalkeeper Steve Harper has revealed three Indian Super League clubs were among the competing offers he received before signing for Sunderland AFC.

According to the Sunderland club website, Harper received three offers from clubs in the Indian Super League, but ultimately decided to stay in England.

Harper, 40, joins Sunderland as a backup for goalkeepers Jordan Pickford and Vito Mannone. Harper was the longest-serving player for Newcastle United, making over 150 appearances for the side during his 10 year stay at the club.
