Rumours are spreading that the Chennai ISL franchise has entered talks with Inter Milan regarding partnership opportunities, similar to that of the relationship between Atlético de Kolkata and Atlético Madrid.
Sources report that the original Bangalore franchise were in close talks with Inter before the franchise’s sudden closure. However the Italian giants are reportedly still interested in exploring opportunities in the newly formed Indian Super League, and will begin talks with the new Chennai franchise.
One name being mentioned is that of Marco Materazzi, the World Cup winner said to be a front-runner for a managerial position in the new ISL club. Materazzi, 41, retired from club football in 2011, finishing his career with a decade-long spell at Inter Milan.
