The Indian Super League has scored another massive win with Delhi Dynamos confirming the signing of Italian legend Alessandro Del Piero. The Juventus star passed a medical over the weekend and signed a deal with the Delhi franchise to compete in the inaugural ISL season.
Del Piero joins the 2014 ISL in good company, alongside former Juventus teammate David Trezeguet, Spanish international Luis Garcia, as well as Arsenal ‘Invincibles’ Robert Pires and Freddie Ljungberg. The Italian star has also been confirmed as the brand ambassador of the inaugural Indian Super League.
With a decorated career at Juventus spanning nearly two decades, the 39 year old recently found reinvigorated stardom in the Australian A-League, playing a sparkling marquee role with Sydney FC.
Del Piero was considering several competing offers before signing with Delhi Dynamos, including that of Hungarian side Honved, who promised to bring Ferenc Puskas number 10 jersey out of retirement for the Italian superstar.
